Save The Dates

I found these save the dates online and they even give the free design template and download to print it yourself.  There are also several options to "mark" your date; either stamp, circle or you can use a "brad" using an 1/8" hole punch.  I decided to go with the stamping option and loved the way they turned out.  I wanted to add basic info to the save the date, like wedding website, location, etc. so I created a "signature" on the back and included all of my info there.  The nice thing about the size of these save the dates are that they fit a standard #10 envelope :)  I printed them on an ivory linen-textured cardstock and was very happy with the results :)

As a finishing touch, I used photo stamps to incorporate Kayley who, afterall, has been with us since day one :)

Engagement Ring

I am so honored to have an heirloom engagement ring from Dave's father's side of the family.  Dave's grandfather proposed to his grandmother in 1920 then the ring was later passed down to Dave's dad whom then proposed to Dave's mom in 1978.  Dave's mom reset the ring in the 80's to combine the engagement ring with her wedding ring. As much as I loved the modern setting of the reset ring, I really loved the antique setting of the original.  Unfortunately, the original ring was unrepairable but I was still able to preserve the original mounting.
And here is a new band with the original mounting :)

Wedding Pomanders

Oncewed.com has been a great source for DIY ideas for wedding decor.  I found instructions for fabric pomanders (to hang on the aisle chairs during ceremony). I have to warn anyone that wants to try them.. it requires a TON of fabric (almost 1 yard per pomander) so if you decide to do this, I recommend starting very early and buying a yard here and a yard there with coupons so you're not paying anymore than $3 a yard.  Its kind of a pain, BUT the outcome is gorgeous!  2 down, 18 to go!

Bridesmaid Jewelry

My coworker Laurie came across this cool blog the other day and I fell in love with this ruffled necklace. It is the exact look I was going for for my bridesmaids jewelry.  I never imagined it would be fabric but how awesome does this look?!  Lara and I are going to test it out this weekend to see if we can duplicate it.. wish us luck!

Wedding Colors

So for the past year or two I've been obsessed with aqua and turquoise and in the textile world turquoise was in fact the pantone of the year, so when it came to choosing wedding colors for my summer wedding, tiffany blue and (buttercup) yellow made perfect sense, especially since we are getting married outside overlooking the beautiful York River.  So without further adieu, here is my inspiration palette for my wedding :)
